Pray for the Holy Father

Over the next weeks and months, the Holy Father will be facing some major challenges, even threats. The major threats will come during his Nov. 28-30 visit to Turkey, despite expressed dangers. The immediate challenges I have in mind are those surrounding the prospective publication of his Moto Proprio granting a universal Indult for the Traditional Latin Mass. Already he is meeting with the predicted stiff resistance. Yesterday's Washington Post carried an article by Tom Heneghan reporting on the French hue and whine entitled "French clerics criticize Pope's Latin mass plans." As one of our readers said, Benedict will have hell to pay if he has the courage to go through with this. I am sure there are many who would not be unhappy if he were assassinated in Turkey. Pray for him.
